I would say that Wonder is a heartwarming book. Really loves the theme of the book and the story flows from different point view. I would recommend parents to read this book and also ask their child to read the book.
It's a story about an extraordinary child named August Pullman (Auggie).
I love the way Via (Auggie's big sister Olivia Pullman) describes Auggie as the sun and the rest of family members are planet orbiting the sun. But there is a shift in the cosmos. The galaxy is changing, planets are falling out of alignment. Via conflicts with her friend (Miranda), her relationship with her boyfriend (Justin) and her conflicts with herself. It makes us realize as a parents we need to pay attention to all of our children even though maybe one child has special needs. A child is a child, they needs us as their parent to be there for them and help them to survive in the galaxy.
Every character is so human. Summer, Jack, Julian, Charlotte, some of Auggie's friend, their character complete the story. They teach us how to forgive and forget. Auggie's parents teach us to never give up, teach our children to be independent and give them trust but yet also considering how they feel about the process.
Beautiful book and well written. Recommended book to spend your weekend. *****
